The E+H Proline Prosonic Flow P 500 Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flow Meter applies a non-invasive measuring principle independent of pressure, density, and conductivity. The meter provides a bidirectional measurement of various fluids, e.g. liquid hydrocarbons and chemicals. The built-in FlowDC (Flow Disturbance Compensation) maintains accuracy even when the meter is mounted with a short inlet run. A stable signal is accomplished via maintenance-free permanent mounting from outside with coupling pads. Sensors for GRP and plastic pipes are available. The freely combinable I/Os offer full access to process and diagnostic information, as well as variety and reduced complexity. 

The measuring system uses a measurement method based on the transit time difference. In this measurement method, acoustic signals (ultrasonic) are transmitted between two sensors. Signal transmission is bidirectional, i.e. the sensor operates as both a sound transmitter and a sound receiver.

As the speed of propagation of the sound waves is slower against the flow direction than in the flow direction, this results in a transit time difference. This transit time difference is directly proportional to the flow velocity.

The measuring system calculates the volume flow of the medium from the measured transit time difference and the pipe cross-sectional area. The sound velocity of the medium is simultaneously measured along with the transit time difference. With this additional measured variable, it is possible to differentiate between different media or monitor the medium quality.

The E+H Prosonic S FMU90 transmitter features continuous, non-contact level measurement of fluids, pastes, sludge, and powdery to coarse bulk solids. The transmitter also measures flow in open channels and weirs with one or two sensors, including pre-programmed and selectable linearization for the most common flumes and weirs. It features up to six relays for tendency alarm, flow measurement with backwater or sludge detection, up to three totalizers and three counters, and counting or time pulse output for control of external units. Integrated or external temperature sensors enable time-of-flight correction.

The FMU90 transmitter offers a one- or two-channel version and the choice of field housing or top hat rail housing for control cabinet instrumentation. The display features envelope curves for quick and simple diagnosis, and the supplied \”FieldCare\” operating program enables easy operation, diagnosis, and measuring point documentation.

The E+H Proline Prosonic Flow W 400 ultrasonic flow meter is a clamp-on meter providing bidirectional measurement for water and wastewater as well as process water and hydropower plants. The measuring principle is non-invasive and independent of pressure, density, and conductivity. Heartbeat technology provides continuous transparency in processes with its diagnostic, verification, and monitoring functions. With the FlowDC option, the specified accuracy can be maintained despite disturbed flow profiles. The W 400 features a short inlet run, long-term stable signal, maintenance-free permanent mounting from outside with coupling pads, and full remote access via the web server. 

The E+H Proline Prosonic Flow 92F ultrasonic flow meter combines a loop-powered transmitter with an inline sensor in a rugged industrial design. The 92F is a calibrated meter suited for process control and utility measurement in the chemical and petrochemical industries, and it measures flow of conductive and especially non-conductive liquids such as solvents, hydrocarbons and non-conductive water. The meter features full bore design for no additional pressure loss.

The Proline transmitter offers diagnostic ability and data back-up capability for increased process quality, and permanent self-monitoring and diagnosis of the transmitter and sensor.
